35mm advertising film for Hartley's Table Jellies from about 1936 Featuring Frances Day with music by Carroll Gibbons played by the Savoy Hotel Orpheans. Lyrics by Rex Hartley. Any information about this film would be most welcome
You know , youre so right. I dont know what I was trying to say, when I think of Ginger Rogers, Thelma Todd, Katherine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, et al. I guess I meant BRITISH stars of the period, although that probably has everything to do with the staid manner they were showcased, then. I dunno- Frances seems such a standout, and the way she adresses the camera directly, with its suggestion of intimacy is way ahead of its time. And yes- most females today are utterly deadly dull vinyl cutouts
@phaasch Are you kidding? Most of the chorus gals from the 20's and 30's I would trade for any so called sexy plastic female today. They were real and quite sexy.
Oh this is brilliant- this lady is seriously overdue a re-evaluation. Theres very few women who can still come over as sexy 80- odd years later. Ga-raand!
Ga rand! :>)
