Robert Dziekanski tasered by the RCMP at Vancouver Airport

After several weeks, the RCMP decided to give Paul Pritchard back his video in which Robert Dziekanski is tasered by members the RCMP. Robert Dziekanski died as a result of this incident. Pritchard decided to make the video public on November 14 to allow people to draw their own conclusions about the event.

What is really striking about this video is there were four cops, six including the security guards, all of them weighed 200 pounds or more, and they clearly considered the guy unarmed, otherwise they wouldn't have gone within 6 feet. Yet they went right to the Taser.

Even when he was lying incapacitated on the ground, they were still scared of him.

Seriously, Canada, that's your vaunted RCMP acting like cowards.

This is yet another display of incompetence at every level, rampant in today's society everywhere. 1) The airport took way too long to process his immigration papers. 2) the airport staff told his mother that he had already left the airport when they really had no idea if that was actually the case. 3) the airport security tased him when he didn't even attack them first. 4) it took them 15 minutes to administer CPR. 5) the entire event was covered up and shoddily investigated. Shameful.

The situation really could have been avoided if they just tried to solve it by calming him down with one or two of the RCMP.. but with 4-5 in his face, he feels even more threatened. He doesn't know what he's doing wrong because he's frustrated and he can't speak or understand English. For the police to act the way they did really pisses me off. They should be shamed for doing this and causing all Canadians to look bad.

It was not "unprofessional"; it was cold-blooded murder. The BC Coroner's report released yesterday ruled it a "homocide".

In Canada the cops can murder you, lie about it, attempt to destroy evidence, and the worst that may happen to them is to face a perjury charge -- which they will beat.

It's entirely "professional"; it's just a professional police state.

They said that: they tried to "reason" with him for several minutes: the video proves that they attacked in less than a minute; they said that they only tased him once: they tased him 5 or 6 times; they claim he was brandishing a deadly STAPLER and so they "felt threatened" and HAD to tase him even though he is clearly turning away from them. Then they refused to uncuff him as he lay dying and unconscious so that the paramedics to revive him. The BC Coroner ruled his death a "homocide".

Nothing will happen to them; one of them even went on to commit a hit-and-run homocide while drunk. He walked away with "early retirement" and a pension.

The only question is how many murders does an RCMP have to commit before he's pensioned off.

Yesterday the BC Coroner's office FINALLY released their judgement of Mr Dziekanski's death: it was a homocide -- an illegal act of deliberate MURDER. Now all we have to do is find who committed that murder... But the police are not, surprisingly, making any efforts to do so.

If four citizens murdered a cop, lied about it, obstructed justice, and tried to dig up dirt on the victim what would happen, I wonder?
