Footage shot by Greg Gasson, Joe Jennings and Claus Richter with the new ARRIFLEX 416HS. Shot in Arizona Desert under 115deg Fahrenheit/46Celsius the Hummer H3 quit working due to the heat. The 416 worked just fine.

  • they say video is how the eyes see it and film is how the mind sees it

  • @rockangel1967 I like film a lot too. I think "Black Swan" turned out great on the ARRI 416. The high-speed version of that camera (the 416 Plus HS shown in this video) is one of my favorite cameras. The only problem is whether enough people will give a damn about the benefits of film in the next 10 years to make it viable.

  • @famousPhotog not many people know that black swan was filmed on super16. same for "the wrestler" with mikey rouke. and the result we must atmit, is amazing! as i said before, shooting in digital is nice and yes it is much cheaper but straight in the face, when it comes to dynamic and serious cinematography, digital will strugle hard to beat film.

  • @famousPhotog not sure about that. i am at the brighton film school and i could put my hands onto an alexa. it just doesn't bite me. maybe im a purist because im into film so many years. i dont want to offend other professionals, though. btw i work with fujifilm vivid eterna 500t and a panavision moviecam compact. you cant do any wrong with that. unless you are a real dumpass...

  • @rockangel1967 I think the ARRI Alexa with 13.5 stops is getting pretty darn close. I believe 120fps for Alexa is coming out this winter.

  • Great filming and post work.

  • i wonder what film was used here? fujifilm vivid eterna 500T ?

  • @ryanthenerd13 It says it in the credits: ARRI/Zeiss Lightweight Zoom 15.5-45mm T/2.6

  • I think they had the focus puller incase they got real close to a diver then to infinity for the long shots of the ground plus the AC can turn the camera on and off, speed changes etc.... Those cameras are fairly light, just a few pounds I believe.

  • That was awesome.. I loved it...

  • @Timcookie321 So true! So true!
