@shorelineboy ...this appears to have been released in early 1965, at about the same time that the "British Invasion" group The Searchers were having a pop-chart hit with it.. This sounds close to the original version by Robert Mosley (who also co-wrote the song) on Capitol Records (circa spring, 1963). Mosley's version was a magnificient flop, which appears to have been completely ignored by all mainstream "Top 40" radio stations. Mosley's version is also on YouTube.
