  • As for ferrets eating plants, I reccomend caging the plants. The ferrets can't eat the plants and the plants don't become psychologically abused from being caged. Also, a caged plant is a good ice breaker for new company.

  • Nice info, but, guys go for 'Ferrets for Dummies'!

  • pet insurance is a waste even for dogs and cats, if your pet is so sick that is requires 1000's of dollars of medical procedures, its time to put them down, sad but true fact. On a side note ferrets are amazing pets and take a lot of work but he reward is a hundred fold

  • can cat vets see ferrets or do they need special vets

  • i think my ferret is dying,he is 8 years and his heart is racing and he is breathing fast.help.

  • @natamina3 ditto

  • Pet insurance isn't worth it, it would be more beneficial to put money aside every pay-day instead of paying toward insurance that may not even cover your ferrets illness. And, if any of your other pets come down with an illness the money will be available for them as well.

  • There is only 1 pet insurance in the U.S. that caters to ferrets, and unfortunately does not cover genetic diseases and cancers/tumors.

The #1 medical emergency that ferrets experience is not adrenal disease, but in fact intestinal blockage (swallowing something it shouldn't). The blockage can cause anywhere from a quick death to months of slow deterioration, depending on the size of the object. If your ferret does get a blockage, expect around $1500 vet bill. So the insurance would be good.

  • I love ferrets. They are so funny and cute. Are they good pets? I might get one in the future.

  • I don't know of any place that offers a good ferret insurance. There is one that does cover a few things, but not the regular stuff they usually come down with. It is better to put aside some money each month yourself for the bills.

  • @natamina3 i agree with u
