  • try a different thermostat

  • @swiss9495 The problem actually turned out to be a faulty coolant temp sensor. 1.9 Escorts and Tracers, along with 3.0 Taurus/Sable, 2.3 Ranger, and I believe another model, built between February 1st and March 1st of 1993 have "overactive" temperature sensors causing the gauge to read higher than it should.

  • @karkraz As I mentioned in the video I replaced the sending unit, but it was from a car built in the same time. These sensors are stamped with an "A 2" on the hex head, to solve it you just replace it with a sensor not marked with the A 2, I replaced mine with one stamped "A 3" and haven't had any problems since.

  • I have the same problem, my car's fan stopped working a couple of days ago. What you have done to get the fan up and running again, is it difficult to do, is it dangerous? The only things I know maintaining my car is keep the coolant and motor oil filled.
