Many Ron Paul supporters want privatization of services but why wouldn't education and transportion go the same way as the federal reserve?

  • I'm not going to point out how Ron Paul never said he supported those things (if you do, please send me a link since most Ron Paul searches end up with only people other than Ron Paul talking about him).

Ron Paul is against the federal reserve for it's absurdity that somebody (private or Federal; in this case private) can control the value of currency, leading to inflation and other bad economical problems.

The fed reserve's problem is not the privatization, but rather the concept itself.

  • I agree with RP on the problem of inflation tax. That's definitely something I agree with him on.

  • I see how you predict it will help but it doesn't follow market principles and if it does it causes proplems elsewhere.

I do however see where if gov't would stop intervening the market would help more people and do it better.

  • Demand for goods will increase from lower income people and decreased demand from rich people will be lower. It balances out.

  • how would demand from rich people decrease.

  • They'd have less money to spend

  • The problem was and is that the government is borrowing money. The problem wasn't that they borrowed it from a private firm, but that they borrowed it at all. And they used their "magic government powers" to print the money.

  • and for what are you talking about?

  • It just looks like we disagree...and that is ok. But, in economics they don't teach you that socialism works. What drives markets is incentives. If you divert incentives you get lower production in an area where you need it and higher production in an area where you need less. Or, if the producers cannot make anymore than the current output, you get higher prices for goods/services that are needed. I don't see how gov't intervention will help.

  • I'm talking about the cultural mentality. Yes, in Texas it does matter and denying it is not helping. "They" are doing the dirty jobs for slave wages and yet "we" complain about immigration.
