The year was 2000 and the local Modesto, CA store allowed Sevan Najarian a chance to make a training video to play during the monthly team meeting.

I'm sure all of this only translates to people that have had the experience of working at a Best Buy or working at the Modesto Best Buy during the time it was filmed.

Anyway, the point of the thing was to make fun of the managers in front of the entire store of employees that made us assemble once a month at 5am on a Saturday dressed in our "blues".

Most of us had hangovers or just no sleep at all. The lucky ones had to work their shifts right away. The rest got to go home after the meeting until their shift started later on in the day.

They would talk about Shrink, MSN sales, Accessories, PSP's and PRP's, and most importantly, the Best Buy culture. One Team One Dream! Go do 20 BEST BUY jumping jacks and Stomp some Shrink while you're at it! Make sure you power serve if you see a customer out of line.

  • ok im sorry... but i work at best buy.... and there is no such thing as a PSP (product service plan) for a dvd player that covers spills... make you you dont really tell customers that... cause thats when our NOP goes down.... because of pissed off customers telling us that the associate that sold it to them said the PSP covers everything.... Unless you buy the Accidental damage PSP... it does not cover everything!

  • Haha the funny thing about this is that it was a joke. I was an employee when I made this video to play at the monthly team meeting as a joke. I'm surprised the managers didn't have the same concern as you. I'm guessing they trusted the staff not to take that part seriously.

  • problem with these big companies they don't want to hire us older workers.

I used to work in a small repair shop (4 of us, that includes the owner). We were all close to 60 years old so we had several years of work experience.

I'm not trying to put down the young workers here, I'm sure many do an excellent job.

  • Spilling coffee on your product is not covered buy the service plan.
