Public Service Announcement

A video that started as a follow up to "Imaginary Place". I just wanted to try running in place in front of green screen to see if I could make it work as well as walking in place did in "Imaginary Place". I started planning it, but I didn't want to just spit out another test video, so I started going crazy and adding floating heads and internet-humor style pop culture punchlines. The running effect turned out fairly well if I do say so myself. The rest of the video........

Anyway, it was shot entirely in front of my 6 foot wide sheet of green screen, with dreadful 3D locations created in Adobe After Effects Pro. Took me maybe 6 hours of work total (I'm still figuring AE out). I used the Photoshop "grass" brush again as kind of a reference to "Imaginary Place", but then I also used the Photoshop "leaf" brush on the ground. I always feel dishonorable using stock elements like the Photoshop brushes, but since they were never intended to be used in 3D like this it seems slightly more reasonable.....or at least thats what I keep telling myself.

But I'm very excited because this is my first video with real fully-produced sound effects and ADR! All recorded and edited by me, complete with agonizingly annoying high-pitched whine in the background because my microphone is junk!!

But what can ya do.

Thank you! I did make the background in 3D, however the grass and leaves patterns were just pre-made Photoshop brushes, so I can't take credit for those base patterns.

Now you've got me REALLY curious! The actor here is indeed myself, and no I have no idea who your talking about. Who are you thinking of?? I want to know now!! Somebody has my face and I don't even know who!!! AAAGH!!! :)

That's a great idea! I never really thought of doing a tutorial, but this one would be fairly easy to do. I gotta find a good screen recorder though... I'll look into it.
