On November 5, 2011, ten teams of Oahu junior school students came to Punahou to compete in the FIRST LEGO League Food Factor Challenge. Teams participated in the Challenge by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field and developing a solution to a problem they have identified. This year's Challenge explores the topic of food safety and examines the possible points of contamination our food encounters, then finds ways to prevent or combat these contaminates. Teams represented were:
BuffnBlueBots (Punahou School)
Lightning Minds (Punahou School)
Green Geckos (Noelani Elementary)
I/Obots (Independent)
Mekanikal Maniaks (Liholiho Elementary)
Hokubots (Noelani Elementary)
