LEGO Hand, Biped, and others

Hand and Upper Arm - An imitation of the human hand and upper arm (Minus fingertips!). 3 NXT motors control 10 pneumatic pistons via a 10-way multiplexor, working 10 functions: 3 for the thumb, 4 for the fingers, 1 for pulling the fingers apart and towards, 1 for wrist control, 1 for twisting the arm up to 180 degrees (not piston operated). An ultrasonic sensor acts as the eye for sensing objects and their distances.

Biped - 1 motor controls all joints

Table Tennis ball shooter - 1 motor with gears for different speeds

Vending Machine - 2 RCX motors control for 4 different sweet types (by using differentials). A light sensor detects coins.

@Wabefuhon Hi. I didn't use Lego Digital Designer. I had a look at that intro - I think it would be possible. You could have 5 switch-valves that you hold in your palm, each controlling a finger, controlled by each of your fingers. You will need a large, sturdy arm piece that fits on your arm and over your actual hand.

Then you can start thinking about the mechanical hand part!
