Shayda Trailer - EvaXephon Games

So, there's this awesome indie game called Iji.

Iji was made in a program called Game Maker. Because Iji is such a fun and well-made game, I decied to learn how to use that program so that I could make games myself. A lot of Game Maker novices who aren't familiar with the program gain experience with it by trying to recreate another game. I've seen Game Maker recreations of Mario, Megaman, Metroid, Pokemon, Sonic, and so on. I decied that I'd start out by recreating another game, as well - and because Iji was made in Game Maker (and because Iji is one of my most favorite games of all time), I decided to take a stab at recreating Iji's code.

After a few weeks, I made a decent "Iji Simulator", a game that imitates Iji's game mechanics as closely as possible. Because I was now familiar with Game Maker and had a cool engine on my hands, I decied to make my own game. Because my game uses the same mechanics as Iji, it is somewhat derivative - but I've made sure to include a lot of original concepts and differences to set my game apart from its spiritual sister.

I call my game "Shayda." After a couple of months of working on it, I now have a promising game on my hands. I decided to make this mock trailer about Shayda as an experiment to see how much of Iji's trailer I could recreate.

why does shayda jump so low in the beginning?

Nice catch! Nobody else has pointed that out yet.

There is a jump upgrade that lets you jump higher. In the scenes where Shayda jumps low, she has not yet acquired the jump upgrade.

It does look pretty cool but mabye make a sequel story to iji because we know the orginal iji maker isnt going to make it
