The city lies between the Pacific Ocean to the west and the San Francisco Bay to the east. The main symbols of the city are Golden Gate, Alcatraz Island, the Transamerica Pyramid, Coit Tower and these cable cars. It is also known for its Chinatown, hippie and gay as well as its many hills.
