Water: It's one of the most basic elements of survival and something most of us take for granted. Just how does the International Rescue Committee provide safe water and sanitary living conditions to 36,280 displaced people in dusty Zalingei, West Darfur, and another 15,000 people living nearby? The IRC's Emily Holland caught up with the man who manages Zalingei's water system to find out.

  • Youre nothing but a grain of salt in the sand. All of you, were all just a spurt of the same shit. Introspection is a bane. People are dying for lack of basic necessities. At least acknowledge and move on. America is abundant in plenty of resources. Why be so nasty towards people that are less fortunate?

Thats why we keep going around in circles.

It's about collaborating no isolating and competing...

    Just my thoughts.

  • instead of wasting money and lives in iraq, american soldiers need to be helping in sudan where there is an actual military solution

  • I have supported IRC for years; however I just discovered that Henry Kissinger, the author of the 200 pg "National Security Study Memorandum 200" which called for a massive population reduction of 13 key third world nations, is a chairman on the board for the IRC. I know that there are many genuinely good people working for the IRC, but I think that it is important for you to google that study ("National Security Study Memorandum 200") before you allocate money to the IRC.

  • Thankyou for giving me hope!

  • Yes until someone with brains responds.

  • The current-day genocide happening in Darfur reminds us of the imperative to fight against genocide and strongly condemn genocide denial.

So why a human rights organization like the Anti-Defamation League is abetting Turkey's campaign to deny the Armenian genocide of 1915?

  • Save america first..don't forget your own problems maybe dosn't seem as important but

maybe the military needs to end the gang, and lawlessness in our own cities. More people killed here than in IRAQ, protect our borders.

  • fuck darfur. worry about america

  • Well done and important.

  • Thank you for helping these people, such a basic need yet the ultimate need, water is everything.

  • Why the use needs to move into Sudan= people dont have enough water.
