    You should compare AK 74 with AR 15 not the AK 47. AK 47 should compare with AR 10.

    dusq, a better comparison would be the M14 or even the M1 because they they were both in service with the original AK47

    Its a great weapon but lets be honest Kalashnikov copied and modified the WW2 German StG 44. It was not an original design but and improved and strengthened version of the German weapon. There is nothing wrong with that but claiming otherwise is shameful.Just like the jews claiming they invented the Uzi and not the Czechs with their CZ M25 submachine gun.
