Every now and then Nairobi venues offer the possibility to have a taste of the rich Kenyan music scene. Last March I went down to Club Galilleo on Museum Hill for a quite unique gathering of some of Kenya's most respected musicians. Jazz saxophonist Chris Bittok (with pianist Mwai), singer songwriter Harry Kimani and soul guru Shu (with singer Kaz) made this 'One Night Stand' hard to forget... In part 1 Chriss Bittok and Harry Kimani, see part 2 for Shu and Kaz

  • Stop hatin' Mwafrika.. Chris is one of few.. I'm in the Kenyan industry and I perform live music.. That was a very true statement and if u disagree I challenge u to name me five people u know who r Kenyans and play the sax, or one who is more known for doing it than Bitok!! Kenyans always looking for a way to cut down someone for trying to do something. How many videos have u put out to help promote Kenyan artists?? U suck!! Shout out to anyone helping the cause, and fcuk off to all hurting it..

  • thanx man, I lived in Nai for almost a year and ofcourse I dont have a 100% view of the whole scene, but at least I know it a bit and I think of what I know and heard Chris is 1 of the best. have a look at the Tshila video for a great and very talented singer from your western neighbours as well.

  • Mwafrika.... SHUT UR FUCK UP!

  • How can you come to visit Kenya and say that Christopher Bitok is one of the few Kenyans who play the saxaphone well?! Not to take away from his talent but your statement that you have listened to all the saxaphone players in Kenya and in addition to that you know who the good ones are and who aren't. Nice video but please don't make statements without research first.
