OMG SO many times have I tryed to do this but every time i found a vid. for extraction, it called for channels which this doesn't have so thank you SO much!

is photoshop cs3 them same as Photoshop Elements 7

No you loose all the wizards and the create tabs. It is better for beginners to use Elements.

Thanks for your prompt response. That is what I've done - there is no 'magic extractor' My drop down under 'image' is
Rotate - Transform - Crop - Divide Scanned Photos - Resize - Mode - Convert Color Profile. None of those options are showing 'magic ex'. A search in help came up with no results. The manual explains the same thing as you. Still can't find magic ex

Mine has the Magic Extractor as the last menu. Maybe try to reinstall the software? I am stumped on this one. You could also call Adobe and ask their free support.
