Not only is it for what Pedro said but its great training equipment. Many athletes of many kinds use this to improve there self awareness and sence of balence and such. Many docters also suggest them to patience rehebilitating from knee or leg injuries. It has many uses.

yeh that looks kinda fun, but its kinda a lame sport, you cantreally role anywhere, you have to use cups, why not just get into skateboarding?...

It's not necessarily a sport as much as a way to have fun when you can't skate, surf, Snowboard etc. It's not only a blast but it's a good way to show off at parties.

I can do all of the types of things that he did on the ground just as well as him if not better. I just need to work on air-tricks though.
