  • Apparently the literary legend thinks that BSG is one of the best television series ever made. Said so him self. So what world are you living in?

  • Battlestar Galactica is not "a revamped TV show". It is, just as Harlan said, one of the best TV shows ever, unlike the old BSG. It took the name, some basic plot premises and character names from the old show, but the 2 shoes are very, very different.

If only you had any idea how common I've found the "thanks to my GF" tagline to be among male nerds. : ) The resultant opinion has a habit of changing once the GF caterpillar metamorphoses into the "EX" butterfly. : )

  • It did give rise to the best science fiction comedy ever made, though, Caprica--so I guess there's that. I've never laughed so hard while watching Syfy channel--but even that got old after a while. Both shows are in Hell now, where they belong.

  • New BSG is a pompous, poorly written pile of goat shit. The only defense its fans have are the awards it got for being the _only_ space show on TV at the time. I love Ron Moore for his Star Trek work, but this series is just the Emperor's New Clothes of space shows. There's no defending it when it comes down to the nitty gritty. It's Days of Our Lives in Space--you watch how bad the characters(I use that term LIGHTLY) can fuck up their own lives to feel better about your own.

  • The season 2 finale reaffirmed why I love the show, hour long dramas, TV, Sci-fi, etc. On BSG I can't predict what will happen next. The show is new and fresh each season. Too many shows stick to formula. I'm not watching TV to kill and hour. I want to feel like I experienced something more. BSG accomplishes that. It has never been stale. There have been misfires but those have been top drawer compared to a majority of other shows. Its OK if its not your cup of tea. I'm not attacking.

  • Actually, the last 3 eps of season 2 (Downloaded and the 2nd season finale) and the first 4 or 5 episodes of season 3 (the New Caprica storyline) were the best stretch of episodes in the show, and among the best TV drama ever.

  • Used to be. Until the season finale of season 2, when it went to shit.

Before that, it was the best SF TV show EVER.

  • Boy, does Mr. Ellison look old.

  • I'm ... I'm sorry. Harlan would never have wanted one of his fans to behave so belligerently towards others.

  • TV crap will come and go, humanoids, but the marvel that is Harlan Ellison will be with the human species till its extinction. So he likes TV pabulum. So what. Get lives, toads.
