This is the entire concert which is represented in the YouTube video of Rachel at age 4 - 11.

At the time of this performance Rachel had been playing flute for 6 months. Her piano playing began at age 2-1/2. At age 4 she began studying with the "Southern California Conservatory of Music" in their "Braille Music Division" with Grant Horrocks, and Richard Taesch, and later David Pinto - Rachel has been blind since she was 3 months old.

Rachel's formal flute studies began shortly after this performance with Dory. She studies flute with Toby Caplon-Stonefield also through the conservatory.

Rachel met Dory where she also studied under his tutelage, as well.

  • 6 months??? And she's improving at that level, seamlessly grooving in/out of Swing?

She has redefined the whole concept of "a quick study".....

  • The more I watch and listen to the videos, the more I want!!

  • The more I see and listen, the more a want!!

  • Congratulations Dan! I didn´t know about Rachel until today. I am just captivated by her playing. She is a lovely girl and I wish I can meet her someday. I have no words.
