so then why not get together and form a community bike ride (similar to the wildflower bike century in April), and not take over traffic.
As said before I'm not upset, just trying to wrap my mind around why people do this

You said "it's quite fun" and in your 2nd quote you referred to it as "the jolly group"
I have alot of fun on my rides as well, and if I have a few people with me you could even consider us Jolly.
I have a tough time believing that 300-400 riders get together once a month to have fun causing traffic issues and being a nuisance, because it's fun.. but then again this is Chico...
So you are saying the whole point of this demonstration is "because it's pleasurable"??

halfdermath, I've never once given any opposition to the riders or the group as a whole...
My question for the past 2 months... What is the purpose of it? Why go out and form a big group and ride through city streets?
What is the reason behind it?
as I said before, I ride daily, I just don't see the point of being a nuisance and delaying people, even for 15-30 seconds, I wait my turn at lights, and go when I have the right of way...

if you're respiratory system can't handle a little car exhaust what the hell are you doing out on a bike?
I ride daily 12-15 miles a ride, through the park, on busy streets, never had a problem...
All I see in this video is a bunch of college kids causing problems in traffic, running red lights, etc... What's the point? to be a nuisance?
I fail to see the logic behind the purpose of a gathering like this, can someone explain?
