  • OK, what kind of messed-up parents would give their kid a name like Twat?

Otherwise, good rockin-stuff...particularly like Duke's weird hairdo...

  • @MightyAlz His real name was Joseph Butler. Twat was just his nickname!

  • Can someone say the date of this recording ?

  • It was 1971 but I do not know the exact date

  • I will always be a fan of Louis Nelson after hearing this! I would never get away with calling my bass player "Twat"!

  • @trumpetcraft his real name was Joseph Butler. Twat was just his nickname!

  • My folks used to let me sit at the feet of Manny Sayles the gleaming gold screws around the head on the banjo messmerised me

When I was 9, I got up the courage to ask him to sing "Marie Laveau"- He did, right in front of me

Happiest moment of my young life

    Probably still the happiest

  • @trumpetcraft - with a left hand technique like that, he deserves far worse than twat ...

    <_<

  • These hep cats really know how to swing....if they were any more cool, theyd' be frozen! Can't help but get those "happy feet" when I listen to this kinda Dixieland! THANKS so much for sharing it with us! You've made my day & my week! :)

  • Good music, thankyou Klikonojazz.

"Twat" Butler's real name is Joseph. I think "twat" must mean something else in New Orleans, perhaps an endearment, and not something rude, as in the Britain.

  • The best.

  • It was post Sammy Penn but still good!
