Lenny Dee doing his comedy/musical routine, "Shame and Scandal in the Family" on November 2,1982 at his club, Lenny Dee's Kings Inn at Treasure Island, Florida. Lenny plays his customized white Hammond Model A. On drums is Lenny's son, J. R.. This is a clip from a personal video. This is the only video I am aware of that shows Lenny playing his custom white model A Hammond (please let me know if you aware of any other videos of Lenny playing this instrument!). Many more clips of Lenny performing music and comedy skits taken from my video can be found in my YouTube channel.

  • He does look just like Jim Backus from Gilligan's Island

  • Lenny Dee was undoubtedly a good organist, but he completely RUINS this song.

It's as if he has been told to include it in his programme, and did not really want to do it.

  • Lenny Dee made the organ come alive, with his unique style and personality. I have heard a lot of critisisim over the years about his playing. I don't think , that it was justified, but that is why Howard Johnson's made Vanilla/Chocolate ice cream. We as fans of the late great Lenny Dee, should know that he , was the number one recording organist of all time, beating out the great Ethel Smith ((Tico-Tico). I have been a collector of Mr. Dee"s music since 1968 (Sir RIP)

  • @paulj0557 Lenny always said that he preferred the Model A over the B because the A had more "bite" when notes were played. Of course he modified his A extensively over the years.

  • Where's the rim shots sonny? Lenny looks like Thurston Howe III in that hat.

Are there any other Hammond-A players on youtube? Lenny Dee does those tone wheels justice alright. I think I'll look for a Hammond model-A next. A guy here in Grove City, OH has one, but I forgot his name. For those who don't know, the Hammond model A's were the first ones sold and were made in 1934 ( I think that's all correct). They sound more mid-range like a guitar, and notes go from low to high w/ no 'fold back'.

  • SHUT THE HELL OFF AND PLAY MAN.

  • "You got mail" (or similar) sound is not welcome! :(

  • I like this song, but not this video.
