  • Wow!, so this was 1979 and Linc still had the monster afro going on, huh?

Gee, it looks even bigger in 1979 than it did in 1971, 1972..... or 1973 for that matter!

And speaking of Linc.....I love that line he used on Pete......"I knew you'd be

the first one to sell out!" LOL!

  • @unconventionalmeans Linc was often teasing Pete about his upper class origins.

  • @liberty0106 I think Aaron S and Danny T had a great idea with Mod Squad. It was '68 & they wanted a hip & youth-type show. I get everything about this show. The only thing that bothered me about it was the dialogue. It was kinda annoying and unrealistic. Seldom did P, L, & J ever speak more than a few words at a time. I once read an old Life article from '71 and Peggy L. said she wished she had been given the ability to say & act like she wanted to but they powers that be wouldnt let her.

  • @unconventionalmeans I never noticed that about the dialogue. I'll watch for that next time I watch an episode.

  • @ 2:35...that's TODD BRIDGES (from Different Strokes with Gary Coleman and Dana Plato).

  • How appropriate the opening song is.

That's "Old Friends" by Simon & Garfunkel. Who knows who's singing it here.

  • MC's hair looks different!

  • I watched this late one night over 10 years ago. I thought it was really good.

When it originally aired in 1979, I wasn't familiar with Mod Squad, so I missed it. I was 8 at the time, and hadn't heard of it. Too bad, b/c it's an awesome show! :)

  • @ 4:08 Pete waxes fondly about his substitute for his "old woodie"... now we know they're over the hill....

  • @ 4:08 Pete reminisces about his "old woodie"... now we know they're over the hill....

  • "My son is growing like a weed" "Thanks, dad - just like that afro"

  • linc is the man.

  • @liberty0106

More often than not, the three of them spoke in sentence form...as opposed to speaking in paragraphs. And actually, there were plenty of times when they only spoke a word ot two at a time.

I do like this show. I get a kick out of the clothing, the cars, and the "hip expressions" of the day. It's just that it alwayskinda frustrated me as a viewer to hear them speak in a way that most folks don't speak like in real life. But, then again, that's television for ya!
