so If you read what that Bible says on an issue then you should not speak on the issue in church?!
And I agree with you on the professing christians vs real Christians thing. but you must agree (since you feel so strongly about it) that it has to be addressed in church. The pastor should tell his flock what the Bible says about sex being made only for marriage. Mark Driscoll did a great series on sex and marriage entitled Peasant Princess (out of Song of Songs)

Sex is only ONE aspect of marriage. Nothing wrong with mentioning it in a sermon...but to do a 6 part series on it--and use Rob Bell's material to do it is not cool. Bell's a clown, and so is this guy. I'd be embarrassed if that was my pastor. Instead of just playing church he needs to teach the Bible. Unfortunately, he probably doesn't know how, so he resorts to this crap.

Page 39 Robbie is talking about the Garden of Eden and he says that Adam and Eve "choose another way", & "they become disconnected". In actuality, they SINNED against Almighty God's command to NOT eat from The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Bell never wants to tell it like it really is in Scripture. He waters down the passage and we never see the immensity of Adam's disobedience.

you said youself "My pastor actually just got done with a series on marriage" and that's what he's talking about. All I'm saying is, what's ONE THING that's wrong in what this guy is saying? people think "sex... you can't say that word in church!" and that's a shame, because it is a gift from God. being all "sshhhh" about it doesn't help. People need to know how God intended things. right? what's wrong with the setting?(just wondering)

I'm just saying...the unchurched aren't impressed by shenanigans like this. And there are more edifying things to talk about in a Sunday morning service. If he wanted to cover this, a different setting would be better--and a little more professionalism.

I'm not bored of the gospel(how could I be?) and that's great that your pastor talked about it. All I'm saying is, what's ONE THING that's wrong in what this guy is saying? He's talking about an important subject and it's all biblical. I'm sorry if I've offended you.

My pastor actually just got done with a series on marriage. He did talk about sex--but not like this clown. If you're bored with hearing the Gospel preached though, maybe it's not the preacher that's got the problem.

I realize that the gospel is important, but have you ever been to a church where the sermon every week was entitled "Jesus Died For You"? Church is a place where followers can be strengthened and talk about God(and ALL related issues). Sex is a gift from God(in a marriage), and it's important (as I'm sure you know) to be sure that its understood. People have figured out HOW, but thats not what the sermons are about. People dont understand when and with whom, and why. Sex isn't irrelevant at all.

No. It really isn't. People have been figuring out how to do it for thousands of years w/out him telling them how. On the other hand, people are dying and going to hell every day without the gospel. No wonder the unbelievers think we're irrelevant.
