  • Just a little information for some who may be wondering what this is about: this was a demo made back in 1999 by Paul Debevec showcasing all of his research into lighting 3D rendered scenes with real, image-based high-dynamic range lighting. All of the light cast within these scenes was generated solely from the photographic backgrounds, and is the reason it looks so believably lit. The advancements seen in this video are now found in almost any video game today, in real-time 3D.
