HUFF activists, opposing the Move-Along Law, which limits political tables to one hour in a 24/hr period at that location, staged a protest in front of the Pacific Trading Company. The PTC was chosen for its efforts to pressure the city to move an iron railing on a sittable concrete planter forward 8 inches, so that "the wrong kind of people" would no longer sit there. The Move-Along Law, inspired by Mayor Cynthia Mathews, also was opposed for its obvious infringements of the right to free speech and public assembly the law represented. Mathew Hartough of HUFF, chose to refuse to move along when his hour was up. He was arrested by the SCPD and the HUFF table seized by police.
