I'm sorry, I meant Lamentations 4:3. not Jer.
Well, SC, it depends on what book you read because in the New Int. Version, they say "jackals".

I like your comparison of this book to something one might hear from a street preacher. Jeremiah is known as the weeping prophet because his heart was broken for God's people, who suffered needlessly because of their rebellion. For me, these three verses say so much about God: "For men are not cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men." (3:31-33)

I don't think the end is near... the end is there, but to focus on it looming at some near future is a negative force... to do good because the end is near is hypocritical.. Life is to have joy.. to experience the force of LIFE... in my opinion... and not to wonder or think why I should do good under a particular definition to avoid angering a god. Eh...

i agree...we should live and do good regardless of whether God is real or not...or if the end of days is upon us.but for the sake of conversation its an interesting topic,Eh....
