Using a 10 ft Catapult to "shoot" your bait about 200-300 yards into the Columbia River.

  • ha ha ha dam friends. i wanna start bankfishing sturgeon. im on the other side of the river though that was the washington side right? i am in oregon.

  • It is on the Oregon side.. It is against the law to use it on the Washington side.

  • haha thats nice a bit insane though, some people like me use a little remote control boat

  • They banned all floating devices within like a 1/4 mile of the dam now since 9/11 I think. You havent been able to use an airboat for years up there though because they had no floating devices within 500ft of dam for years and years....

  • @IMKINDOFABIGDEAL13 Yes, it is your choice, but everyone at bonneville uses mono. The problem with braid is, it cuts through mono. If you tangle up, the mono will be cut by the small diameter braid. If you get into a sturgeon, and it swims around other lines, all of those lines wil be cut. It is just respectfull to others to go with mono to avoid problems. I would reccomend 30lb mono for bonneville. just always make sure your drag is set after you cast.

  • @superden001 I have landed 8 foot fish on 25lb mono... in 45 minutes. And no, Im talking bonneville dam on the columbia in oregon (see above video). Go see for yourself, we all use mono at bonneville and oversize are common. If you know how to use a drag, you wont have problems.

  • @nwsturgeonangler why is that? no i dont fish there i fish closer to portland, but why is braid not okay? isnt it my rod and reel and my choice as to what tackle i use?

  • Why? Are everyone below b-ville masochists? You like to suffer for hours before you finally land the fish?! Or even land at all... LOL

  • @IMKINDOFABIGDEAL13 You must not fish below bonneville then. If you try to use braid here you wont make many friends.

  • do you really use 10 and 20 pound test? i use like 60 pound braid for bank fishing sturgeon

  • Ill be there jan. 8th

  • @wafishermaan i thought odfw and wdfw were going to consolidate their regulations for bonneville. i normally fish the willamette but i want to start plunking bonneville since i live not too far away. someone i know from ifish.net was telling me they were going to have the same regs on both sides soon. not sure if that true or not though

  • @wafishermaan that seems like a stupid rule. i thought oregon and washington had the same regs at bonneville
