  • bazz2202 - Thank you for your comment.

The government has classed cannabis as an illegal class B drug and Kent Police is responsible for upholding the law.

The Crown Prosecution Service is responsible for determining if offenders are guilty and imposing sentences.

We will continue to work closely with our partners to offer guidance and support to drug users and to reduce crime even further.

  • Cannabis is associated with lung damage, cancer and psychotic illnesses - see Talk to Frank website.

To remove £9m worth of any drug from the streets is significant and sends a very clear message to those who deal drugs and ruin lives in Kent that they will be brought to justice.

  • ...or even heroin. He's harming himself, and possibly causing damage to members of the public with the irrational actions seen whilst drunk or using a harder drug. It's the choice of the police, and the lesser evil is a superb option as far as everybody I know is concerned...

  • There was a second half of the comment to put on here but I didn't bother as it looked like the first one hadn't gone on...

So this guy is allowed to smoke up - maybe even just privately or in a specific place like in Holland. He's not doing anybody but himself harm, and the harm he's doing is far, far less than it could be were he to go out binge drinking.

Now let's say he's stopped from doing it every time. He can either turn to alcohol - very dangerous - or a more subtle drug like cocaine...

  • Seriously, this is so stupid! Stopping people from smoking cannabis and imposing ridiculous sentences on those who do isn't "targeting people who cause harm"...

Cannabis, in case the wonderful people who pioneer drugs law are unaware, is harmless in the short term. Harmless. Not "fairly safe", harmless. However, it is conspicuous. I would imagine your average cannabis user who gets picked up by the fuzz is around 18, 19, right? So say he were allowed to go around smoking cannabis. Great. CONT..

  • Good job.
