8th Grader w/ Pellet Gun Killed by Police

A middle school in Texas is mourning the death of 15 year-old, Jaime Gonzalez after he was shot and killed by Brownsville police in the hallway of Cummings Middle School. Police were called after people at the school noticed that Gonzalez was carrying some sort of weapon on him that they said looked like a gun, but turned out wasn't. The police and shot and killed the 15 year-old.

@clinmo In the US a person must be 21 years of age to open carry a gun and 18 to buy one ( Diffrent states diffrent rules) However he was 15 3 years to young to carry adn firearm. Also he was to far away to use TASERs. Shooting to arm is a hard target to hit and that is not how police are trained. Police are Trained to hit center mass (torso) They only shot when Jaime pointed the gun at the student and the officers thought he was going to kill the other kid.

i live in brownsville texas, and this isn't a surprise. cummings is the ghetto-est school around here. and if any body stopped to say wait, WHY did he bring a gun, well the answer is his girlfriend was sent to BAC (jail for minors) and he wanted to go with her!! thats really stupid, i understand loving her, but in jail, guys and girls get separated, and he should've dropped the gun when he was asked if thats the case, you don't aim a gun at a cop, you're digging your own grave.

And how were the cops supposed to know it was fake? Very sad, but I wouldn't call it excessive force.  The three bullet wounds were due to a "failure to stop drill" where it's two in the chest one in the head. No apology is needed.

Damn right, the cops did the right thing!! That's why in Canada you have to be at least old enough to get a firearms license, b4 you can go and buy a pellet gun... We don't even allow squirt or cap guns that look even remotely realistic to be sold in our stores. When a pellet gun is 500 PSI, It is considered a deadly weapon. Silly little infringing laws like that SAVE lives PERIOD!!
