  • what horn have you here? ive never heard this type of sound before, real deep and rich for an alto almost sounds like a bari playing reall high altissimo

  • @XdarkdomainX it's a C melody. A Conn New Wonder straight Neck C Melody from 1921 to be precise

  • Which ligature is used in this video? I believe it would be a rovner? I feel they reduce reed vibration, what makes you like them?

  • it's not a Rovner. it's a very old ligature, which is basically just a piece of leather and a screw.

All the gadgets and stuff that is on the market today is highly overrated, for the most part.

  • is there any setups you might recommend for classical work? I'm particularily interested in your setup for the bass saxophone and for the glazunov video. good to see a fellow bass saxophonist!

  • without hearing you, and knowing what sound you look for, it is impossible to recommend something. On my Keilwerth bass I use a very old Conn Eagle mouthpiece with no 4 Vandorens and an GF ligature.

The setup on my Glazounov vid is listed there.

    all the best

    Andreas

  • This is simply wonderful - thanks. I found your video via a link on a C Melody site - I wonder whether these saxes will have a resurgence - they will do if more people hear this music - thanks again

  • Hey, does the ligature matter to the sound the saxophone produces? Ohh and my ligature looks exactly the same as yours. Just a heads up.

  • Just a question but have you tried the Eppelheism low A bass saxophone? I had the opportunity to play one and what an instrument! Absolutely astonished, beats my buescher any day!

As for setups, I couldn't find the glazunov setup, was it the same as the pequena czarda setup? I'm just trying to find out what I might want to take a look at

  • I could not find your setup for the glazunov anywhere. Could you please tell me? Have you tried the Rascher pieces? Could you tell me what you think of Rascher and Caravans?
