This game had so much potential... The could have done so much more with it. I personally think the plot was absolutely brilliant, as was the star villian. Bravo, Mephiles.
I find it so very sad they don't intend to reuse such a chilling, complicated protagonist.
However this is what we have Fanfiction for. ;D
