I am a jew and oddly enough a dear friend and one i love is of romany heritage lol, odd thing how we both have that common ground about the holecaust and the suffering our people went through, and we never knew that of each other when we met....funny thing that is.

God bless the Roma and our Jewish brothers who suffered with us. Both of our people went through hell and back because people were blinded by racism and hatered. This is why it is so important to be aware of the new wave of hatered and racism manifested in Eastern Europe, especially Romania, Slovacia, and Hungary.

1) The gypsies first took the name ateganos in Greece (the untouched or untouchable) thus the name tigani. The Greeks knew very well how an egyptian looked like simply because they had much interference with them for centuries (this mistake couldn't have been made).

2) They called themselves egyptians much later when they reached western europe (and they had much to benefit from this).

3) Now they call themselves Romani (since the congress of 1971 in London). Do not reshape history!!!
