1999. The year VAST entered my life. Senior year of high school. There was a boy named Ben and he forever came up with new ways of breaking my heart. Maybe I broke his a few times too. He made me a mix tape, and amongst all the songs on the tape was "Pretty When You Cry". He wrote on the mix tape cover that it was how he felt about me. Ouch. Ahhhh memories! Well I can thank him for one thing..introducing me to VAST who has remained my favorite artist since.

I think it's about the mindset of a serial killer. The girl in the back is a soon to be victim of his. In his mind, she is Riding Hood and he is the big bad wolf. The other girls are his past victims. The scissors is how he kills them. The girl goes from soon to be victim to past victim. (Her hair is cut and her eye is stabbed out.) He kills them in the woods. (One victim is on the stump.) The old woman is the killer's cause of his killing spree. His issues are with her.
