My 29 gallon aquarium with new gravel, some new fish and a different filter setup. Some of the fish in this aquarium include: - 2 types of corydoras - bleeding heart tetras - buenos aires tetras - Siamese algae eaters - albino bristle-nose pleco - rasbora hengeli - miniature orange platys

  • @MrDarekx12: A lot of factors need to be considered to determine if a tank is overstocked. In this case you can use the usual rule of thumb and conclude the tank is over stocked, but that can be counter-balanced by making sure the water parameters remain safe and at the proper levels through added filtration, good aeration etc. This tank may have been over-stocked, but the fish thrived as I provided them with a healthy environment to live in.

  • beautiful tank! i am getting a 29 gallon tank sometime soon, what do you think of this stocking plan?

    1 dwarf gourami,

    5 bleeding heart tetras,

    5 serpea tetras,

4 bronze corydoras, 3 platys and 5 hatchet fish. what do you think? too much even with double filtration?

  • when you see a 10 gallon with a lot of fish you say overstocked but when you see a 29 gallon aquarium with a lot of fish you say ahh pretty

  • @MarkA12397 im almost positive its the chinese algae eaters that go aggresive

  • Hey man im planning to redo my tank. Should i just tank everything out including water and then redo it? Or what should i do?

  • @MarkA12397 No, Siamese algae eaters are peaceful regardless of size.

  • Nice tank although you probably know this but if not once the algae eaters get big they'll turn aggressive.
