The first part in the let's play of Konami's Evolution Skateboarding for the PlayStation 2. Released in 2002, the game has been long forgotten in the shadow of the juggernaut franchise Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. The game was developed by a Japanese company, and was even worked by Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, hence the short segment in the Subsistence version of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, where the player can skate around the Big Shell look-alike Plant level as Solid Snake.
Suffering from stiff controls, which were a subtle emulation of THPS controls, the game is difficult to maneuver around in. Unlike the THPS series, which featured the biggest names at the time; house hold names like Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist and Bucky Lasik, Evo Skate features less known skaters like Danny Way and Arto Saari. Despite being in the shadow of the Tony Hawk series, Evolution Skateboarding still hold its own with unique features, like boss battles, which require the player to trick off moving objects and creatures in order to defeat.
While the game is largely forgotten, it can still be found in stores, collecting dust. I acquired my copy of the game from Game Stop for an amazing $.99, the cheapest game I have ever purchased for the PS2. So in order to spread awareness of this forgotten game, I have decided to do a let's play, a video playthrough that will allow people to experience the game second hand, and also to document it. If you are one of the people who decide to watch this let's play, especially all the way through, I thank you in advanced. Evo Skateboarding is not a long game, nor is it perfect, but I have taken a liking in this lost gem. So without further ado, let's play Evolution Skateboarding.
In a bit of trivia, I have named my created skater Lary, after Rayjay2's character in his on going let's plays of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. Go watch and subscribe to his channe!

@FragBenitez Well, they have become more mainstream these days. Danny jumping the Great Wall of China and all that... I'd never heard of them back in the day.
