Ranma 1/2 Live Action Announcement

The announcement of the Ranma 1/2 live action special that will air in Japan in December 2011. So far the announced cast is Kento Kaku (male Ranma), Natsuna Wantanabe (female Ranma) and Yui Aragaki (Akane).

Update: More casting news... Soun will be played by Katsuhisa Namase, Genma will be Arata Furuta, Kasumi will be played by Kyoko Hasegawa and Dr. Tofu will be portrayed by Shosuke Tanihara. The program will air at 7:00pm on a Friday in December and will be written by Yoshihiro Izumi.

(10/7/2011) Some new casting was announced today. Tatewaki Kuno will be played by Kento Nagayama, Maki Nishiyama will play Nabiki Tendo, Yuta Kanai will play Hikaru Gosunkugi and Ryousei Tayama will play an original (villain) character named Okamada.

The song is 1989's "Princess' Rehearsal" by CoCo (the b-side to Equal Romance).

It's like a dream! ^O^ A dream that finally comes true!!! ^^ I can't wait to watch it!!! The actor and actresses are so cool. I've shown their pics to my friends and they said that Aragaki Yui are so beautiful to play as Akane!!! Now, only one last dream that I really hope to be granted, I want the anime series to be continued.

Dear Inuyasha fans, Inuyasha HAD a Chinese live-action. It is called Holy Pearl with 32 episodes (42 minutes long). You guys should check it out. The plot is similar, but with Chinese myth instead and there're many changes as well. But Holy Pearl is basically Inuyasha live-action in general...

@mandik91 Mmm, I dont think that inuyasha will get live action as well, if u ask me. because i think inuyasha is harder to be acted than ranma, plus that it has already a new series with a proper ending (i guess). maybe a movie will be good but until then, i doubt about it. if ranma gets live action it doesnt mean that inuyasha will get live action too(no offense to inuyasha fans) but i'll take my words back if it REALLY happen.....

@Inuyashaluvah1999 Well, personally I think that each one had its fame at its time. Ranma is older than Inuyasha, so it's natural that the new be more popular than the older. And, I dunno, maybe trying give some refresh to the series, they did this Live Action. There's much time since Ranma's fans hadn't something new, come'on...

I believe that it's a matter of time until Inuyasha get a special or live action, seriously.

For the record, I approve of the casting for Ranma's character. Boy!Ranma I was apprehensive about at first, but then I saw him in drag, laughed like an idiot, and deemed him suitable. Girl!Ranma is easily a good fit. I approve. She's so hot I don't even- She's worthy, damn it. WORTHY.
