  • It's funny, today we'd look at female boxers applying makeup and cry 'exploitation' or 'sexism', but you have to hand it to them: to step into a ring, beat the crap out of a another woman for three rounds, take said beating, and still take the time to look great while doing it is not so much objectified as it is dignified.

  • Roseland Ballroom where?

  • this look like my grandmother fighting her best friend!

  • @MelanieLouM adjusted for inflation that would be able $80,000 babies. :D

  • I had no idea women actually fought back then!

  • @rflp4682

In the United Kingdom, women boxed as far back as the 1720s, and those fights could often be as bloody and brutal as the men; but it wasn't well documented because the women were often very poor.

  • they actually allowed feamle boxing in the 1920's?

    that is news to me!

  • Why the hell do they need makeup? It's gonna get messed up.

  • @MorroccoSurrogate

I don't know if they're that talented. I didn't see them try to dodge one punch through out the entire fight.

  • !! 1920's? Wow..Didn't know women boxed way back then.
