@iphil25 I recently saw a reunion performance concert at the Historique Park I think it was in Haiti with those two it was as though they have been playing together without a gap for 40 years.... It was historic. You just have to witness this performance to have an idea what I am trying to convey to you ....

@iphil25 To be continued... If you asked Herman , it was an issue with discipline, being such disciplinarian he had problem with that and as the leader back then it would tolerate this from no one , no matter what your level of talent is, and that is what this band stands out and to be able to survive as long as it did....Anyhow, they are both very successful an still doing what they do best... But I do agree that combination was a perfect fit... to be continued

@iphil25 There was a lot in term of figuring what went wrong with that combination of Herman and Dadou -- If you asked Dadou he will tell you it was a lack of creativity freedom was not allowed to him and also the fact that he was very young then he was always looking down to by the older members which was true, but the real story is he wanted to do his own thing with his very talented two other siblings Tico and the Percursionist his name evades me for now...

that guy is great! For sure!

I might be wrong, maybe he might do a clinique or seminar one day and shows us how he does it....LO

I've been watching him play, he seems to be using a tapping technique similar to Stanley Jordan's style of playing. But, unlike Jordan, he's tapping not on the fretboard but right below it. It does not look easy............lots of practice.

It looks like finger tapping, except that he's not tapping on the fretboard itself,he's tapping right below the fretboard. Its almost the tapping technique uses by Stanley Jordan, yet totally different than Jordan.
A living legend!
