If America would just stop funding "war" and all that killing people shit that just doesn't make sense to the rest of the world they'd be the "best" country ever. Sadly, they like killing far too much :(.

I work in a lab that experiments with countermeasures for the ISS. NASA and NSBRI fund our research and, it is true, our work has become rather political as the government has been hacking and slashing at funds toward education and science for quite some time now. Squabbling over funds makes it difficult to co-operate with others in our field - we have to play everything close to the chest lest we risk sharing too much with a stingy collaborator and lose funding to them. We need more awesome.

Science done by NASA is some of the best in the world. Although my interests lie more towards Genetics and molecular biology, the stuff done there still blows my mind away.
Now if only NASA would stop blowing rockets up, they'd be almost perfect!
