The most likely culprit are the slow/pilot jets and float height adjustment.

The first thing your doing wrong is letting the bike run on the kick stand. These bikes should always be on the centerstand. The carbs like that

poor running in the older 70' kz650 is for this reason 1 cracked coils 2 points 3dirty carbs 4 vacuum leaks at intake manifold to cylinder 5 a generly abused and therefore useless machine first clean carbs then replace coils and ignition silicone intake manifolds while carbs are off tune ignition with timing light good luck my 650 a 1979 runs awsome.....keep trying....
-
have you thought about the coils? are you still running stock coils? i just went through my carbs and things improved drastically but the timing on 2 and 3 is not right, one is advanced and the other retarded. im replacing the coils anyway and running Dyna S when i get a chance, but it could be them...

Plug wire itself on #2 may be faulty. That would explain no-spark at the plug. Sounds like it t is not firing. That would explain coll to touch on that cylinder. Weak coil can cause this also.

i have on kz 650 to, and i have an eletrical problem that i think i have correctly found the faulty part.
i belive its the "brake light failure switch" and it mess all the eletronics.
for some miles the bike runs perfecty on 4 cilinders and can go to 12.000 rpm, but some times, that eletrical part get crazy and the bike cuts spark randomly and the bike losses torque, some times it complity cuts spark on four for some seconds.

the idle/slow jets may need to be replaced. fuel building up and draining out of the bowl could be the float sticking due to float needle sticking and may need to be replaced. I just rebuilt my 77 cb 550k cafe racer carbs--idling AND running with no bogging on main jets. initially my carbs would not idle and i replaced all the idle jets--cured that. got my idle jets at Sirius.com out of Canada.

here is my question i need to clean the carbs on mine it's not pulling fuel into the cylinders but it fired on cylinder 4.
-
well if it idles fine when the chokes up n dies when its down, you need to turn the idle up
What is the question? If you are asking how to clean the carbs, boil them in a mixture of half lemon juice/half water for 30 minutes. Rinse them and blow them dry with compressed air when done.,
Make sure that all passages are clear of crud when you're done.
