Sybil's Parkinson's Disease can no longer be effectively treated with drug therapy. Deep brain stimulation is an alternative treatment that can re-establish quality of life in such patients.

  • Substantia nigra in the mesencephalon is probably the the what they are talking about. Patients with parkinson's disease have a decrease in dopanergic neurons in that region of the basal ganglia.
