@KimberlyArevalo019 It would have been fatal if the lioness did not have it pack to support it.It is not only the immediate support but the lioness had time for its wound to heal as it had the pride member to hunt.That's why tigers are always more cautious & fearful and lions are bold and courageous.

It was described as "fatal" because the researchers following the pride of lions never saw her again ... they reasoned that she wandered off and died.

That's not a fatal wound... a very painful one for her yeah but getting gored in the shoulder area shouldn't be considered as "fatal"
