It looked to me as if Arakune knew what he was doing but had to wait for that opening which V-13 leaves very few to exploit. He got the curse out and was blocking the whole time just was unable to land it in time to make a combo.

I always believed that it is up to Arakune or v13 to lose the fight (not saying they're overpowered).
Every time the opponent gets close (with the exception of Tao) it seems as if the zoner had messed up.
