that does NOT only happen in LA... I live on a whole other continent and when i trew a costume party a few months ago, i really tried everything to get the most people possible to come. It was awefull and eventhough i love costume partys, i´ll probably never throw one again, too afraid of the awekewardness between the few people that do come..
