  • @CJMoneymom Amen to all that. Loved the overall jazz/funk-oriented performance. But yeah, having seen him live execute much harder scats w/o any intonation/phrasing problem (like no other new generation r&b singer could dream of doing, at that) , I guess he's not quite himself here. Gotta love him, regardless.

  • Nice. Who's on trumpet? Is Steve McKie on drums? 2:54-3:34 = great on drums. Thanks for posting...love how he came in at 4:28. Is he high, though?? ;) Makes me think of Al Jarreaux singing "Morning" in Vancouver in '09. You can find it on YT. Totally unrelated to Bilal, I wonder how artists feel when they're older & can hear notes/rhythm in their mind but the execution isn't there.

    Overall, this was uncomfortable to watch in spots but still really great. I love Bilal.
