  • I was in this audience in New York and he sounded fine to me. He was a last minute replacement for another singer.

  • well shouted, my friend!

  • I actually think he is doing a superb job here, I have had the pleasure of singing with Teddy here in New Zealand and when I saw the Votre Toast clip and then listened to it, I have to say that I'm very pleasantly surprised. And to those people who call it shouting: you need to listen more carefully to realise that he actually isn't.

  • Come on you untalented jealous freaks! Stop judging something you can't evaluate and even replicate a very very tiny bit! He is a damn good singer, you should dream of becoming something like the guy in this video! (and listen to his Handel's "Messiah" :P )

  • he is one forced actor - and not much good at "acting" the words either. Not impressed at all.

  • What was up with that Non Piu Andrai video? This redeemed him at least a little bit for me. :)

  • I had to listen to this aria several times to be able to jugde impartially...I actually notice that, compared to other arias I have heard from him, he seems to have lost part of that "easyness" he had, specially in high notes. Perhaps this is not the repertoire he's best at. Perhaps he's having a bad moment; I don't know. But if I don't try to compare, I like his performance pretty much.

  • @TheVoicelesson Very well shouted! So appropriate for a bullfighter who's used to shouting over a roaring crowd! Rhodes shows so much flexibility in that he can sing Bach and Handel, then totally shift gears to yell (with an amazingly brilliant first high F!) Escamillo's aria. Very exciting to watch! This definitely ain't chamber music! Bienvenido a Espana!

  • @foropera i'm sure teddy is gutted. wouldn't be surprised if he leaves the profession forever.

  • One of the most congested voice I heard on stage: it does not work at all in the room, especially the high notes. And his beauty does not help for the sound.

  • Ole!!!
