IMPORTANT NOTES:
- For fabric selection, remember to follow the fabric types listed on the dye packet. **Most polyester fabrics will NOT dye!! I recommend 100% cottons or blends
- Remember to go from light to dark when multiple color dyeing (ie yellow to orange then red)

I forgot to mention in the video that the scrap towel is used to clean off your gloves after you wring out the fabric so you don't accidentally get drops of dye on other places of your fabric while handling it.

I have more in depth notes (including multiple color gradients) here:

Sorry about the music, hope its not too distracting, i wanted the instrumental version but couldn't find it.

Any questions just let me know! :D

  • What do the cup of salt and tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent do exactly?

  • @VocaLiveHD I'm not exactly sure on the laundry detergent but I believe the salt is needed for the chemical reaction to take place. I'm assuming since table salt is cheap and easy to get a hold off, its cheaper for the company not to include it in the powder since you need so much of it lol.

  • @xHiyokoChanx Ahh okay ^-^ I couldn't get a hold of enough salt and we use laundry powder at my house so I was just wondering if it were to affect the process if I didn't have them.. Since I don't have much time before a costume party I'm going to wear this costume to, I dyed the sleeves a few hours ago leaving them out, turned out looking the same as yours :D Thank you for the great tutorial by the way :3

  • @VocaLiveHD Yeah I forgot to mention liquid laundry detergent is better since it dissolves more evenly without clumps but it doesn't hurt to use powder :) and awesome! sometimes it is hit or miss with salt since one time I actually just straight forgot to add salt and it came out nice still :)
