Just try this, I think it's the original like Johnny did. Place your capo on the 3rd fred and use these chords:
Chorus: G - D - A - D.
Verses: D - G - A - D.
I just tried it by myself and it simply works.

The song goes G - C - D - G for the verses. For the refrain it is C - G - D - C. Listen to the song for the strumming rhythms. I sing it all the time at open mic nights. It brings down the houses every time. Good luck with the song. The guitar part is way easy.
